Our Goals

At Straight Up Electrical Inc. our goal isn’t to be just another electrical shop, but to be the kind of shop that we always knew could exist. One where quality work performed by true craftsmen is what drives profit, not cutting corners and deceptive bidding. We witnessed the standards of the industry firsthand year after year and know we can do better.

"If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients."

We could not agree more with this statement. After endless experiences working with tradesmen disenfranchised by management that typically was indifferent at best, we know that our people will be the single asset that can truly set us apart from our competitors. Our goal is to set the standard for electrical work and ensure all our customers, whether homeowners or business owners, know that we have their best interests at heart.

With over a quarter century of combined experience seeing work driven by the wrong reasons, we decided it was time to step out on our own and show how a shop driven with the right motivations could shine to both its customers and employees. We look forward to you joining us on this journey.

Our Values

Honesty

We live and also stand by our name in being straight up with all interactions. Trust is earned, not given, and it starts with honest genuine interactions. We then back this with integrity in all of our actions

Quality

True quality in all things is becoming scarcer every year. We desire to bring the true craftsmanship back to trades work. Understanding current and emerging technology is our promise, so that we can provide you the best overall solutions for your projects.

Community

With rural roots and small-town upbringings, we know the value of community ties. Our desire is not to merely exist in the area, but to truly become a known and recognized part of the community and a relied upon resource.

Safety

Electrical work is hazardous by its nature, and we want to ensure the safety of both our employees and customers. As with many things in life, safety is primarily common sense, and that is how we approach it. By ensuring every employee understands the importance of safe work and empowering them to react based on real world conditions of the job, we build real, safe, best work practices that can truly be utilized and applied to ensure everyone is as safe as possible.

Meet Our Owners

Matthew Geiger - CEO

Matthew is a driven and curious individual. He is always wanting to know why. This curiosity aided him while attending Perry Tech in Yakima, which paved the way to his career in the electrical field. His organizational and management abilities were recognized early and earned him employment in the Industrial sector, where he spent the first 8 years of his career. Knowing that he wanted to someday open his own electrical shop, Matthew understood a more broad background would be pivotal. Thus, he left the Industrial sector and started working in Commercial construction and eventually Service work. Utilizing his diversified skillset, provided Matthew the knowledge and background to realize his dream of becoming an electrical contractor. In addition to spending free time with his family, Matthew enjoys hobby tinkering on a variety of projects.

Ryan Jackson - COO

As a PNW native and Navy veteran, Ryan entered the electrical industry after his six years of service to our great country ended in 2013. The military instilled in him a strong set of values and work ethic that is with him to this day. The diverse and extensive industry skillsets and potential for constant growth are what drew Ryan to become a licensed 01 Journeyman. His drive and passion for providing the most professional and sound electrical installations to the communities he grew up in are what gives Ryan a sense of pride and satisfaction day after day. When he isn’t working, Ryan thoroughly enjoys engaging in various outdoor activities with his family.

I was experiencing challenges with my electrical and called several electricians. Everyone gave me a several day window. Matthew worked with his team to have someone out at my place the next morning. Ryan came out w/ an apprentice and they trouble-shooted the issue in short order, eased my stress about the issue and went above and beyond with assessing ways to resolve the issue without costing me a large amount of $$. Their great communication from the office rep to their field team was excellent and appreciated. When Jenny said she’d call by a specified time, she did. She provided the electricians with a detailed synopsis of my concerns and they clearly conveyed their awareness of what they were coming to my place to assess and repair. They clearly communicated the issues they found and next steps. I already plan on having them come back for other work needing finished.

Straight Up- an excellent local team that was able to assess and efficiently fix a wiring mess that I helped make. When a junior electrician was temporarily stumped with my situation, co-owner Ryan was over within minutes to save the day. He gave me part purchasing advice and quickly sorted the two confusing sets of three-way switches. Coming into a pre-existing and mangled system is never straightforward or easy; Straight Up jumped right in and doubled down when the going got tough. Highly recommended.
